    Yeah Baby

I have money! Yay! So I went a bit crazy and went grocery and beauty shopping. Later on, despite the rain, we tripped down to Eastwood to watch Madagascar for their 7pm show. But since the cinema was already full, we decided to schedule ourselves to watch HOUSE OF WAX instead.

    Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It wasn't a bad movie. Though I think I was the only one screaming! Blood scenes just gross me out, and this movie had plenty plenty PLENTY! But since I'm a sucker for horror flicks, and I just love freaking myself out, this movie basically satisfied the gore lover in me. Everything was pretty predictable though. From the start, you could already guess who was going to live, who wasn't, and who the villain(s) were. But the highlight of the film, besides Paris Hilton and her fake boobs, was none other than hunky doodle do Chad Michael Murray! Oh baby, he's mad hot! He had this bad boy thing going on, and since I'm a sucker for bad boys, Chad was enough reason for me to stay glued to my seat... ;)

I love him I love him I love him!!!! Was never a fan of his till now! *sigh*

There are loads of movies coming out soon (or are out now) that I really really wanna watch.

    I'm broke.

Yes indeedy. I am. I have 600 bucks flat in my ATM... and despite knowing that, I still had the guts (literally and metaphorically speaking) to head down to Cibo at ABS CBN and Starbucks. I just can't get enough of spoiling myself... Especially since school is about to start.

Momma!!! I need moolah! Oh Momma!

And just because I'm a camera whore, here are tonight's "chosen" pics.

cibo's red grape shake tastes sooo much like grape!!!
    then again,
    *duh*.

I must must MUST learn how to budget my dough. The proper student way man. I must get rid of this conyotic lifestyle. It's doing nothing for my ego... and my wallet for that matter. At this rate I might not be able to save enough for my big out of town trip next summer!

    *hay buhay*

P.S: I'm super addicted to Starbz' s belgian waffle topped with tons of whipped cream and strawberry syrup. yum baby yum.

P.P.S: I'm working out tomorrow. I CANNOT gain weight. I now weigh 103 lbs, but with what I ate tonight, I think I gained around 5 more. Grrrr! So yeah, I'll be sweating it all out tomorrow. No way am I gonna go back to school looking and feeling bloated. Not. Gonna. Happen. Sophomore babes watch out!

    A disappointment.

    Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Enough said. I have been a huge fan of the Amityville Horror (true story) controversy since 6th grade when my Dad gave me the book to read. I was fast outgrowing Enid Blyton's Famous Five series, and it was time for something new. Needless to say, I loved the book. It scared the living crap out of me! I also read the third book, and I loved it too. So when I saw the movie yesterday, I was sooo fuckin' disappointed.

They changed almost EVERYTHING! The details were all wrong, and they tried to put two details into one to summarize the story. First of all, they referred to Jodi as a kid, when in actual fact, Jodi was a pig. The room they found at the basement was too big, and was so not what the book described. It was supposed to be a 5 by 4 feet room painted from top to bottom in red paint. The ending was sooo crappy too. The father was so NOT as insane as they made him seem to be!

Idiotic producers! What the fuck were you thinking?

So if you've read the book like I have, and want to watch the movie. Pray, please don't. Don't shell out a hundred bucks for a blockbuster wannabe.

    Thankyou.

It's an all too familiar scene. One that makes you cringe, and one that brings you back to your senses that you ARE from a third world country.

While stuck in highway traffic, a teeny street kid (not more than 5 years old at the most) knocked on our window, begging for coins. I saw about five of them, knocking on different cars, trying their luck. All this, on a highway! Imagine. Once the traffic dissipates, and all the cars get goin, these kids could be run down just like that, and no one would even care!

On a different note, I once again realized, that we are sooo lucky. We consider not being able to go online, not being able to buy the latest cellphone or iPod, not being able to go out on gimmicks as the biggest dilemmas of our teenage lives. On the other side of the fence, where the grass is never green, there are kids our age or even younger, who worry about how much "barya" they are able to bring back home to their uncaring parents. They worry about what to eat tonight, while the rest of us spend half of our allowance lazing around Starbucks with a caramel frap.

I think I should really really REALLY be more grateful for my blessings... I have wonderful parents who provide almost everything I want, and not neccessarily need. I'm grateful that I am able to go to a good school, that I am able to eat three times a day, and that I live where I live. Heck, I'm even super grateful that we have a househelp who puts up with our demands and inabilities to do housechores on our own.

Sometimes, it's little wake up calls like these that make you think twice that even amidst all the pressures of society and school life, it IS wonderful to be alive.

    RANDOM PICS OF THE WEEK.

Met up with some friends at this Chinese resto for some catching up. My good friend Jaimie's debut is coming up, so she asked us to say a few words on Video ala A.S.A.P. Haha. O diba? Ang taray! San ka pa?

    In a flash.

I haven't been blogging in almost a week! Wow! A monumental change from my usual 3-times-a-week blog routine. I've been too busy with theater rehearsals, and this Tuesday and Wednesday, all the hard work, criticisms and weight loss have all paid off... *whew!*

    Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Funny how time just flies by so quickly. You spend day after day with the same people, you've rehearsed the same damn lines, steps, etc..., you had lunch/dinner with them, you laughed with them, dressed with them, gotten criticized with them... *haaay*. It's been an awesome experience. How I wish that I had the time and patience to make a scrapbook. This whole hullabaloo is definitely something super worth remembering! After all, it's not everyday you get accused of sniffing drugs backstage by the director. *ahem*... haha.

Being extremely goofy with Erica the giant. She stands 5"6 at 14. Wow!

By order of appearance- Liza n me, Noee n me, Zara n me, Ghea n me. ;) Beautiful even with all the theater makeup and scary blush piled on. ;p

If there's only one regret I have, it's the fact that my family wasn't among the audience to watch me being a dork on stage. But on the bright side, it's been a fun 5 weeks. And nothing beats the fact that I've made new friends! They're such wonderful and talented people, and for those 5 weeks, we were all like family.

*Thanks to everyone who watched... haha. I just hope it wasn't pure torture. And oh, many thanks and blushes of embarrassment goes out to Debbz and Friaz who sat in the front row and held a banner that said, "WE LOVE YOU REESE." Hahaha... how strangely sweet! ;)

    And therefore....

    MAKE UP YOUR BLOODY MIND.

Seriously man, isn't the heat just too much? I find myself heading to the school canteen in between theater rehearsals buying iced Milo, iced Pomelo, iced tea, iced mango, ice cream... anything with ICE! Strange how when it rains, you crave for the sun. When it's super sunny naman, you crave for the rain. (On a different note- when you're born with straight hair, you want curls. And vice versa).

Man is just so gawddamn fickle minded.

The other day, the director told me how much he hated my costume for being too simple and cheap. Strangely enough, he told me to wear something simple and cheap in the first place. So when I showed up in my Mom's old old "daster" (is that how you spell it?) and an ugly faded shirt, he told me to wear an all black outfit with a white shawl. So when I showed up on stage for dress tech with what he wanted, he told me to change back to my old costume cos he liked it better and found the black outfit too classy to fit my character. (you with me?)

Then again, today, just when I was going to change into my old costume, he said that I should keep the black outfit instead.

    *Whaaaat?! So labo.*

    NEW BLOOD.

I just love freshmen enrollment. You get to see sooo many new faces. The best part is looking around for new hunks. I've seen plenty already, but unfortunately, they seem to be outnumbered by the "totoy" population. Sad sad sad.

But another reason why I love enrollment is because you get stopped by so many innocent ex high school students, and UP strangers looking for this and that building etc...

    My favorite bit?

Tricking them and giving them wrong directions. *lol*

Can't be helped. They're just so vulnerable... just the way I used to be when I first entered UP... So innocent. So unexposed to UP's shocking liberated culture. When I was a freshie.... I was tricked into paying 5 pesos for passing by a fraternity's "tambayan." According to this fat dude, I had to pay 5 bucks every time I passed by "their" territory. Yeah, yeah, I fell for it. But now, I know better... and I also know that since I'm officially not a UP virgin no more, these cute former high school kids are sooo gonna get it. Bwahahaha!!! It's payback time dudes.

Anyway, my friend Dhon was walking on the pavement when a car stopped right next to him and asked him the direction to YadaYada building.

Dhon- Oh, go straight. As in diretso. Tapos, you'll see a big tree in front of you. After that, magtanong na lang po kayo ulit.
Stranger- Oh. Er... thanks anyway. (He swears under his breath).

On the other hand, Friaz and me have a different take on the situation. When asked for directions, we just scream at the stranger's face and run away.

    Heh.

Malor suggested naman that if someone asks for directions, we should reply back using
    SIGN LANGUAGE!

Hehe... Upper class men could be so bloody cruel. But heck, it's what makes college worth remembering all the more.

    REUNION

So, I'm gonna bitch about this high school reunion my high school friends are having. I HATE IT. Atif came up with this idea that we should have the reunion in DUBAI. Yes, Dubai of all places, during summer. Obviously, I can't go. Their summer starts from June to August, and during that time, I'll be too busy with my first semester hassles. But even if I was off school during that time, I know my folks wouldn't let me go. Dubai. Imagine. It's a whole new country. These kids just have all the luck. They go to Dubai as if it's just Quiapo, and it's a HUGE plus since these kids have folks who own airlines/ or work for them. (Hello, free tickets!)

Grrr! How unfair! I sooo badly want to go. Some kids just have everything. How socially degrading. Makes me wish that I opted to study in another country. Sam's in the UK. Amz is is Scotland. Shlokes is in New York.

My best friend is off to Maldives for the summer, and here I am, slaving my ass off doing theater. No out of town trips. No solid plans for out of town trips.

    Grrrrness... I feel so local.

    Lately...

*Lately, I've been listening to alot of NERD. They're cool cool cool, and I love their raw, unique sound that isn't too mainstream. I super love "LapDance." It's becoming an iPod favorite, and sobrang feel na feel ko lakad ko when I'm strutting down school corridors. Heh.

*Lately, I've been facing serious body issues. Despite friends and family constantly showering me with the "You're so skinny now," line, I just can't seem to believe them. For me, there's no such thing as being too thin, because I've been blessed (or cursed) with intestines that crave for junk food all the time. I'm obsessed with my body the same way I'm obsessed with Orlando Bloom. It's a sad life. I am never satisfied, and I always want to be thinner. Thinner. Thinner. Thinner. But lately, I've realized that maybe I should give my dieting a break... *sigh*. I found stretch marks on my neck. *waaaah!!!*

*Lately, I'm always tired. And I'm too tired to finish this post.

    Off to bed.

    Wazzup Wazzup

So I'm dead tired. Super. We had to rehearse the dance combination a bazillion times. But I can't complain. I've been wanting to exercise since summer started, and hey, I just got my wish. But 9 hours of rehearsals is just overkill man. I'm surprised I've been able to bear all this. Two of my theater mates just gave up and went home altogether... *sigh*.
I was supposed to go home to be with my relatives for this yada yada swimming excursion tomorrow. But I'm just so exhausted.... so... yeah, I passed. Grrrr.... I was looking forward to hunk watching naman! Bwisit.

I saw myself on Wazzup Wazzup today. STUPID camera man. He shot me at my "fat angle." My face looked soooo round!!! I looked like a blowfish! Plus, the lighting was horrible.

(But in fairness, my body looked good. Haha... so screw the 10 pounds on cam myth.)
I think I picked the perfect shirt to wear. I love you ZARA!

    Like a Virgin

I find it absolutely amazing when a guy at the age of 20 something (if not older), admits that he's a virgin.

I once saw this Simpsons episode where this white haired, old dude was accused of having an affair with a married woman. Enraged, the townspeople rallied outside his home, shouting all sorts of things. There was no truth to the accusation and the guy was having a hard time convincing the people. Exasperated, the poor old guy suddenly screams at the top of his lungs, "I'M A VIRGIN!!!"

    Sudden hush. Pindrop silence.

Then some teenage kid in the crowd says, "He's telling the truth. No man at the age of 50 would EVER admit that he's a virgin."

Conflict resolved. The crowd leaves... with the townspeople muttering "Loser" under their breath.

Hehe... The Simpsons are hilarious! =)

Strange how virginity has lost its novelty, sanctity, value, etc etc... Sure commercialism and mass media has alot to do with it, but our attitudes towards sex is just sooo blah nowadays.

The other night, while on the topic of sex over beer (initiated by Liza), Friend M admits to being a virgin when asked to share about his sex exploits. AT THE AGE OF 23!

    Drunken laughter halts.

Why the hell does that ALWAYS happen?

Self confessed 18+ virgin guys are admirable... And hey, to admit that to an audience, that takes GUTS! How brave! =p They're one in a million. And rest assured, you've nailed down an honest to goodness loyal guy. (pun intended).

On the other hand, as my good friend says, what he's admitting may be either:
    a) TRUE or

    b) An excuse. (He's gay).

    Ladies, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

    So I've been thinking...

Yes... there I go again. I've been thinking waaay too much... To the point where there's almost zero positive thoughts floating around up there.

    My life feels sooo empty.

There's like this huge senseless feeling of needing something. Question is, what the hell is that SOMETHING? I'm not sure if I'm craving for love, attention, or just plain excitement. Maybe I'm craving more of the latter than anything else. Or just maybe, I've been taking my after 6 diet waaay too seriously and I'm REALLY craving for some good ol' blueberry cheesecake.

    Grrrr...

Anyway, I just finished reading "5 people you meet in Heaven." It rocks! ;) I saw the movie on Hallmark before reading the book though, but if I had to choose between the two mediums, I'll say book. I love the way this Mitch Albom dude writes... It's so bloody fascinating! I've started reading "Love in the Time of Cholera" too, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It's a bit complicated, and he uses such big words... but I like it... it makes me feel smart! Heh.

On a different note, I've been bumming all day at home. Isn't it strange how simply doing nothing can be just as tiring as doing something?

To unwind from today's "activities" of lazing around, I tripped down to Tajma for dinner with my homies... ;) I had ox brain with pita bread for dinner (it's not as gross as it sounds! it's actually super yummy!) and for the first time ever, I FINALLY got to try those hookah thingies I've been seeing in Arabian coffee shops since I was 5. We originally opted for apple, but ended up with grape instead. The verdict? It was "okay." But since I started smoking cigarrettes, I was disappointed with the effect. There was no thrill whatsoever. But it was fun cos you could blow sooo much smoke with minimal tobacco... something you can't do with Winstons.

To end this useless post... I'll leave you with this joke... ;p

DR. PHIL WAS CONDUCTING A GROUP THERAPY SESSION WITH FOUR YOUNG MOTHERS AND THEIR SMALL CHILDREN. "YOU ALL HAVE OBSESSIONS," HE OBSERVED. TO THE FIRST MOTHER, HE SAID, "YOU ARE OBSESSED WITH EATING. YOU'VE EVEN NAMED YOUR DAUGHTER CANDY." HE TURNED TO THE SECOND MOM. "YOUR OBSESSION IS WITH MONEY. AGAIN, IT MANIFESTS ITSELF IN YOUR CHILD'S NAME, PENNY." HE TURNS TO THE THIRD MOM. "YOUR OBSESSION IS ALCOHOL. THIS, TOO, MANIFESTS ITSELF IN YOUR CHILD'S NAME, BRANDY." AT THIS POINT, THE FOURTH MOTHER GETS UP TAKES HER LITTLE BOY BY THE HAND AND WHISPERS, "COME ON DICK, WE'RE LEAVING."

    ahahahahaha!

if you didn't laugh... you're an ass. I found this hilarious!
